These terms govern your use of illi, a browser extension for gesture-based video controls. By installing or using illi, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use illi.
illi is a browser extension that adds gesture-based playback controls (speed, navigation, bookmarks, and auto-pause) to the video platforms it supports. Today that is YouTube, and we may add more over time. The service includes the extension itself and, for subscribers, cloud-based features such as cross-device sync and account management.
illi modifies the video-viewing experience within your browser. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to YouTube or Google. Because it runs on top of those platforms, they can change or break illi's features at any time.
To use illi, you must create an account using your email address. Authentication uses one-time passcodes sent to your email. You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your account.
You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age where you live) and able to enter a binding agreement. One account per person. Do not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with access to all features. Your trial begins the first time you use illi, not when you sign up. No payment information is required during the trial.
When your trial ends without a subscription, illi's features become inactive. Your data is retained on our servers and cleared from the device; it is restored if you subscribe again. You can request deletion anytime.
illi offers the following paid plans:
Current pricing is displayed in the extension and on illi.world. We may change pricing for new subscribers at any time; existing subscribers keep their current rate until they cancel.
Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your chosen payment method until you cancel.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal, accessible from the illi extension. After cancellation:
The Founders plan price is locked for as long as your subscription remains active and continuously paid. If you cancel a Founders subscription, the locked price is permanently forfeited. Resubscribing after cancellation will be at the standard price available at that time.
illi offers a free trial so you can evaluate the product before paying. For this reason, fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. If you experience a billing error, contact us and we will resolve it.
While your account is active (during your free trial and on a paid plan), illi syncs your bookmarks, preferences, channel settings (including your per-channel speeds), and resume positions across your devices. This data is stored on our servers (hosted by Supabase).
We take reasonable measures to protect synced data, but we do not guarantee that synced data will never be lost, corrupted, or temporarily unavailable. You should not rely on cloud sync as your sole backup for any data. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for data loss resulting from service interruptions, technical failures, or account termination.

You are responsible for activity under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
illi, including its code, design, branding, name, and documentation, is owned by Wallflower Studio Inc. and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the extension for its intended purpose. We keep all rights not expressly granted to you.
You retain ownership of any data you create within illi (bookmarks, labels, preferences, settings). You give us the permission we need to store and sync it for you, and to use feedback you send to improve illi.
illi integrates with third-party services (such as Supabase, Stripe, Sentry, and Postmark) to operate. Your use of illi is also subject to the terms of these services where applicable. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or policies of third-party services.
YouTube is a third-party platform. Changes to YouTube's interface, policies, or APIs may affect illi's functionality. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation on YouTube or any other platform.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of illi at any time. We aim to communicate significant changes in advance, but are not obligated to do so for minor updates or bug fixes.
illi is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee specific uptime for the extension or its cloud services.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, illi is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that illi will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always compatible with the video platforms it works with. This does not remove the legal warranties and consumer rights you have under Québec law, which cannot be waived.
To the extent the law allows, Wallflower Studio Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use illi, including damages arising from changes to YouTube or other third-party platforms. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to illi is limited to the subscription fees you actually paid to us for illi in the 12 months before the claim, and no other amount or cost counts toward that limit. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude, including for bodily or moral injury or for gross or intentional fault, and nothing here affects the consumer rights you have under Québec law, which cannot be waived.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to cover reasonable claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from content you submit unlawfully, from your misuse of illi, or from your violation of these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of illi will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be resolved by the courts of the Province of Québec, Canada.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may terminate your account at any time: you can delete it yourself from within illi, or contact us at the address in Section 17.
Upon termination:
We may update these terms as illi evolves. The effective date at the top will reflect the latest version. A material change is one that meaningfully affects your rights or the deal, such as a price increase or a new restriction. For a material change, we will notify account holders through the extension or by email before it takes effect. Continued use of illi after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
